BREESE

BREESE is a low cost radio communication device that can be given to elderly patients by their GP when loneliness is suspected. Users are able to connect with others in their local area without the fear that comes with leaving the home. Our team got an insight via user interview and research that 41% of over 65‘s say that they feel cut off from society and 1.2 million people are chronically lonely. Loneliness is as harmful as smoking 15 cigarettes a day and doubles the chances to get Alzheimer. Many organisations offer different approaches to target loneliness, but our research showed that people who use these services are not lonely. New attendees are seldom.
